Bristol Veg Fest

I was lucky enough to go along to the Bristol Veg Fest recently - I say lucky as it was actually the last one to be hosted in Bristol after 15 years! Sad but it will be continuing on in other cities, the next one will be in London on the 21st/22nd October 2017. There were stalls promoting everything vegan from beauty products to cleaning materials, and even a vegan dating app called Grazer - hilarious to me but I can see how it could benefit the single vegan in their pursuit for the perfect partner/eating buddy.

And the food, so much food! Vegan cakes, chocolate, cheese, and outside there were loads of cool food trucks offering vegan food from Mexico, Greece, Italy, the Caribbean, and basically every country you can think of. This is my trio of vegan tacos from El Marchador Tacos - holy guacamole were they good!

But apart from the food I was actually there to see what new vegan clothing brands are popping up - and I was not disappointed! I saw some brands that I recognised; Viva la Vegan, Thamon London, Plant Faced clothing, etc, but I also came across some new names. One of which was Heartcure, a clothing company set up to support Brook Farm animal sanctuary who rescue animals from dairy farms who otherwise would be killed.

Another brand that caught my eye was Living Beings who had a really good range of tees + tops using only organic cotton and eco-friendly water-based ink for printing. I love the crop top that says 'world peace & a vegan boyfriend' - goals af.

Before going to Veg Fest I didn't really know what to expect, I thought it would be a small gathering of vegans with a couple of stalls, but it was actually one of the busiest 'festivals' that I'd seen in Bristol. I would definitely recommend going to a vegan festival if you are considering making the change - as it can show you just how many options are out there for you and talking to people who have a lot of experience can really help answer those questions you might be having. All in all it was a fabolous day, and yes I ended it with vegan churros and chocolate sauce HELL TO THE YEAH.

Shout out to Los Churros Amigos - you filled me with so much joy (and churros)
